Why We Are Here

Aerospace students take flight

That's right. They flew a plane.

It was an afterschool activity like no other! On Thursday, October 6, four Aerospace students were able to soar-literally! The opportunity was made possible thanks to the support of community members who understand that while Aerospace is the program - flight is the dream. On behalf of the four thrilled, young pilots thanks to  Mike Chappie, Sidney Airport Manager; Jake Minesinger, Flight Instructor; and the Scott Family McDonalds. The Aerospace students are

Tyler, Greenville; Aaaron, Sidney;Justin, Piqua; and Joshua, Piqua. The program Instructor is Richard Borgerding, Piqua.

Careers under construction!
Throughout the course of the 2011/12 school year, students and citizens can expect to see evidence of our ongoing renovation project. The $24 million project is a huge undertaking as we are replacing outdated systems and technology throughout the 37-year old structure while remaining open for business.  Phase One, a  new swing space  is already complete and occupied by classes displaced during the construction. As labs and classrooms in the South end of the building are completed, the focus of work will move to the opposite end of the over 4-acre building.  It is an exciting process!

Just as work on the renovation project continues throughout the year, our transition from Upper Valley JVS to Upper Valley Career Center continues.  This web site along with building signage, highway signs, program banners, and even student uniforms will be phased in to reflect the new  identity.

Every step forward...is a step forward! In the meantime, "please, excuse our dust" and know we appreciate your patience and support.
