Airbrush for Beginners
The Upper Valley Career Center Adult Division is collaborating with local artist Jim Shively to offer a specialty training series in airbrushing.  No experience is necessary in this beginner’s class.  The techniques Shively shares have been fine-tuned through his years of experience designing and applying customized paint treatments to Semi Trucks and Trailers.  Shively’s airbrushed artwork on commercial big rigs has been recognized in both the 2003 DuPont Top Gun award for his work on a Peterbuilt Truck and first place award in 2004 and 2006 for airbrush work on an International Semi, a Jeep and a Chevy SSR. He also paints cars, custom choppers, and wall murals for individuals and businesses throughout the country.  His work has accumulated many top awards for his customers at shows throughout the nation.

Cake Decorating I
Upper Valley Career Center Adult Division continues the tradition of hands-on education with fun and useful culinary training.  The popularity of cooking shows has generated an entire television network, and now the Upper Valley Career Center offers Cake Decorating classes  - "live" right here in Piqua!

Stained Glass
Jeff Emrick, Sidney, leads participants through the basic ‘how-to’s’ for cutting, grinding, copper foiling, and soldering.  Emrick says that working with stain glass has broad appeal partly because of the array of skills sets and tools used in the craft. Each student works on a simple panel design from a selection of patterns provided by the instructor. This is truly a beginner’s workshop.  Anyone with an interest will be surprised at what they accomplish.

Upholstery
This introductory Upholstery course includes the basics of furniture repair, selection of upholstery material, and basics of upholstering. With the advisement of instructor, student will select a small piece of furniture to upholster during the course.

Food Service Certification
ServSafe
ServSafe is the food safety program developed by the National Restaurant Association Educational Foundation.
