Upper Valley JVS Adult Division is an excellent choice for adults with an interest in a brand new career or advancing skills. Mary Jo Granger the UVJVS adult Career Counselor works with prospective students to help each person connect with the training program that matches interest, aptitude, and employment needs. 

Full-time Options
Our Career Development programs are full-time taught by top-notch professionals with real-world experience. These PELL Grant fundable programs help participants go from no skill to employment-ready in just a few months! Career Development Programs include preparation for state or nationally recognized certification exams and professional licensure.  Most importantly Career Development students graduate with confidence in their abilities thanks to the hands-on experience gained in UVJVS labs or on-site clinicals.  

College Credit
Franklin University is just one of the colleges that works with Upper Valley JVS to turn Career Development training into college credit. UVJVS Career Development students can transfer up to 24 credit hours toward a Franklin University bachelor's degrees in Applied Management, Information Technology, Healthcare Management, and Public Safety Management.

Short-Term Courses
Other options for adult students include Career Enhancement courses and Short-Term General Interest workshops.  In just a few hours or a few weeks, participants add to their existing skills - expanding career opportunity and income potential.  Some people take classes just for fun. Short-Term General Interest Classes offer creative outlets and personal satisfaction.

Many employers tap into UVJVS Career Enhancement courses to develop the strengths and capabilities of current employees.  All Career Development and Career Enhancement topics are customizable to target the specific needs of any workforce. 

The UVJVS Workforce Development team offers employers additional services to ensure they maintain their competitive edge by hiring and retaining qualified personnel.

Still uncertain if you are ready for school or a new career?  Adult Basic and Literacy Education is a great way to gain confidence.  There are many reasons some adults haven't yet received their high school diploma, but it's never too late. The ABLE staff and dedicated volunteers have helped hundred of adults accomplish their dream of earning a GED
