How Employees Benefit from WorkKeys
Assessment scores enable individuals to demonstrate their competencies in basic skill areas required for the effective performance of specific jobs. Individuals may include their WorkKeys Assessment scores in their resumes posted on OhioWorks.com.
How Employers Benefit from WorkKeys
Job Profiling identifies skills and the skill levels someone must have to perform effectively a specific job within your company. An individual's WorkKeys Assessment scores can be compared to the skill levels required by the job determined by job profiling to establish his/her skill proficiencies for effective job performance. Employers may include the required WorkKeys levels in job postings on OhioWorks.com. They can provide Instructional programs to assist their employees in improving WorkKeys scores to meet the needs of their company.A national system designed by American College Testing (ACT) to measure workplace skills, to relate those skills to specific jobs, and to improve workplace skills.

The WorkKeys System is comprised of four components:
1) Job Profiling
2) WorkKeys Assessments - Reading for Information, Applied Math, Listening, Writing,
Locating Information, Teamwork, Applied Technology, Observation
3) Results Reporting
4) Instructional Programming

How the NCRC Works: Levels
Three WorkKeys scores determine the level of the National Career Readiness Certificate. When employers ask for the National Career Readiness Certificate for jobs in their workplace, they tap into the most qualified labor pool available. Applicants with a National Career Readiness Certificate provide solid insight into their foundational skills in the core areas of Reading for Information, Applied Mathematics, and Locating Information.
►Bronze – scores at least a level 3 in each of the three core areas and has the necessary foundational
skills for 35 percent of the jobs in the WorkKeys database.
►Silver – scores at least a level 4 in each of the three core areas and has the necessary foundational
skills for 65 percent of the jobs in the WorkKeys database.
►Gold – scores at least a level 5 in each of the three core areas and has the necessary foundational
skills for 90 percent of the jobs in the WorkKeys database.
►Platinum – scores at least a level 6 in each of the three core areas and has the necessary foundational
skills for 99 percent of the jobs in the WorkKeys database.
