Auto Collision Repair Students Help Local Law Enforcement
Students in the Auto Collision program recently offered their talents and skills to the Piqua and Sidney Police Departments to repair and paint a detective vehicle for each. The work for both of these community service projects was completed by the junior students during the fourth quarter of the school year.
Detective Sergeant Rob Jameson, Sidney PD and Deputy Chief Tom Steiner, Piqua PD both contacted Auto Collision instructor Frank Anthony to inquire whether the students could repaint a vehicle for their departments. Anthony agreed to the project knowing the importance of on-the-job training for the students.
On June 1, Jameson and Steiner met with Auto Collision Repair students to inspect the finished work. Both were very complimentary and thankful to the students and Anthony for a job well done.
The paint for both of the projects was donated by Car Paint, Inc., of Piqua. Manager Rick Gaskill shared, “Car Paint has supported several projects completed by the Auto Collision Repair students. We appreciate being asked to support the community.”
Instructor Frank Anthony is from Houston, and program Paraprofessional Greg Anderson resides in Piqua.
